The Specialised Information Service for Performing Arts (FID DK) is a service from the Johann Christian Senckenberg University Library (UB JCS) and has been funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) since 2015.
The aim of the FID DK is to offer theatre and dance researchers needs-based access to previously difficult-to-reach knowledge resources and to establish the FID DK as a coordinating interface between actors from science and research and memory institutions. The FID DK portal www.performing-arts.eu offers researchers and interested parties a convenient way to start researching the collection holdings and thus supports the infrastructure of the memory institutions of the performing arts. The holdings are regularly expanded to include new (data) collections, with the focus on providing unique archive material.
The FID DK team supports the handling of research results and data collections with advisory services, on-site appointments, and the organisation of workshops and working meetings.
