Since 2015, the operational management of the currently around 40 specialised information services and those responsible from the central specialist libraries have been meeting twice a year in the FID working group (AG FID). The AG FID manages specific developments in the FID network, sets programmatic work priorities, conducts workshops, initiates surveys and discusses and exchanges best practices. The AG FID maintains an exchange with national and international information infrastructures (e.g. NFDI consortia, OpenAIRE, Operas) at an operational level.
Since 2014, several sub-working groups (UAG) have been formed within the AG FID on specific topics: subject indexing, public relations, VuFind, research data, e-publishing.
The specialised information services (FID) guarantee a high quality of indexing. In order to do justice to the specifics of the subject, the FID are also involved in the editorial development of authority data. The sub-working group (UAG) Subject Indexing (SE) is working on the challenges that exist both within and across FIDs, and the requirements that are placed on indexing tools.
